The digital launch of this report is one of its kind initiative as it is not done by any other universities ever in Eastern and North Eastern part of India. The momentous launch was done in the presence of Prof. Samit Ray, Hon’ble Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Deependra Kumar Jha, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ujjwal K Chowdhury, Pro Vice Chancellor of Adamas University among many other notable professors and academicians.

The report highlights how the university has quickly and radically altered its teaching, learning, evaluating activities during this crisis. It also captures how the university prioritised the safety of the students and decided to close the campus as early as March 15, 2020 onwards.

It had immediately adopted a series of humanitarian measures which included contribution of Rs 10 lakhs to the CM Relief Fund by the Prof. Ray. Additionally, the university offered its campus to be used as a quarantine center with a maximum of 1000 beds for isolated persons, along with quarters for doctors and health professionals despite being a non-medical university. The university is taking full care of the food and logistics of the persons who are staying there as covid suspects and the authority is ensuring regular sanitisation of the area and the isolation wards.

Prof. Ray said, “It is a moment of pride for us. Our professors and whole team have not left any stone unturned to expand learning even during lockdown. Adamas University is among those top notch universities which has not compromised with the current situation. Hence this year’s Academic Plan has been drawn up keeping on mind state and central govt directives, UGC protocols and safety and well-being of all our stakeholders. We are committed in giving back to the society and hence we offered land for isolation centers. All these initiatives are a part of our #AdamasUniversityCares which is completely focused on taking best possible measures to support the nation during this pandemic. I pray that we all quickly overcome the situation and get back to our normal life. We are also very proud to inform that the student who got placed through campus hiring have secured their jobs. We would also like to add that this year we will conduct all semester exams in July and all the new batches starts from September 1.”

Also speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Deependar Kumar Jha said, “We are deeply committed to offering academic flexibility to our students on various matters, including curriculum, classes, attendance, examinations, assessment, resits and all other matters keeping in mind the paramount interests of students.

The university understands how we are all undergoing unprecedented times where our biggest priorities are to ease our anxieties and promote mental wellbeing.
