Amity Group to establish Harrow International schools in India & New York

September 9, 2021

The Delhi-based Amity Education Group, which comprises ten Amity universities, 26 K-12 schools and 30 other education institutions in India and abroad with an aggregate enrolment of 175,000 students, announced an agreement with Harrow School, UK — the elite British public school — to establish Harrow International Schools in India and New York.

Harrow School is one of the world’s most famous schools. Founded in 1572 under a Royal Charter by Queen Elizabeth I, it is located on a 324 acre estate in London and has numerous illustrious alumni like Jawahar Lal Nehru, Winston Churchill, literary figure Lord Byron, and innumerable Nobel Laureates.

Founded on Harrow’s unique traditions and educational approach, Amity will establish four new Harrow International Schools in India and one in New York. The first two of these new schools will open in September 2023.

Harrow International School Bengaluru in India and Harrow International School New York in the USA will be launched as residential and day boarding co-educational schools.

Harrow International School Bengaluru, situated in a purpose-built 60-acre campus in Devanhilli and enjoying proximity to Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore) International Airport, will offer students aged 11 to 18 an education based on the national curriculum for England and will prepare them for Cambridge International IGCSEs and the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Harrow New York will be located in a stunning 170-acre campus in Oakdale on Long Island and will develop an innovative, bespoke curriculum to meet the needs of its students.

John Batting, Harrow School’s Chairman of Governors: “We are delighted to be expanding the opportunity for students to access a Harrow education in two new geographies with Amity, a partner with global educational expertise. Our joint aspiration is to establish world-class schools that offer a premium education based on the Harrow Values of courage, honour, humility and fellowship.”

Dr. Atul Chauhan, Amity President :- “For Amity, blending modernity with tradition is a fundamental aspect of pedagogy. Our focus is on establishing a global outlook in our students, through an innovative curriculum that promotes their overall development and inculcates a deep respect for values. This partnership between two education leaders will bring together Amity’s uncompromising quest for quality education with Harrow’s 450-year-old tradition of outstanding education.”
