Andhra Pradesh likely to begin classes for 9th and above from September 21

The Health, Medical, and Family welfare department of the Andhra Pradesh Government on Monday, September 7, 2020 issued GO.390 guidelines for Unlock 4.0 across the state. The guidelines stated that schools for students from 9th standard to intermediate second year is likely to reopen from September 21 across the state. 

Schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will remain closed for students and regular class activity up to September 30. Online and distance learning will be allowed to continue. Besides, up to 50 percent of teaching and non-teaching staff are to be called to the schools at a time for online teaching and related work in areas outside Containment Zones from September 21, 2020. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW) for the same.

Students of classes 9 to 12 may be permitted to visit their schools, in areas outside of Containment Zones only, on a voluntary basis. This will be subject to the written consent of their parents and guardians.

Skill or Entrepreneurship training will be permitted to function from September 21 in National Skill Training Institutes, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIS), Short term training centres registered with National Skill Development Corporation, or State Skill Development Missions or other Ministries of Government of India or State Governments.

On similar lines, the Delhi Government issued a notice earlier stating that all school would remain closed till September 30, 2020 and classes in the schools would continue in online mode till then. Further, in accordance with the MHA’s Unlock 4.0 Guidelines, students are not allowed in schools till September 20. Students of classes 9 to 12 are allowed from September 21 on voluntary basis.
