The Andhra Pradesh Department of School Education announced a new mandate for all schools in the state, requiring three water breaks for students due to the increasing temperatures.
Named the water-bell initiative, these breaks will occur at 9:45 am, 10:05 am, and 11:50 am, as stated in a press release by Praveen Prakash, the principal secretary of school education.
The Department of School Education aims to promote student hydration and overall wellbeing with this initiative.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) reported heatwaves in 68 mandals across the state on Tuesday, with nine mandals experiencing severe heatwaves.
However, only two mandals are expected to face a heatwave on Wednesday, according to forecasts.
