CBSE class 10, 12 practical examinations begin today

January 2, 2023

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 and 10 has begun its practical examinations/project/internal assessment from January 2, 2022 (today) and will continue till January 14, 2022. The examination will be invigilated by external examiners across all the 28,000 CBSE-affiliated schools in India and 26 countries abroad.

The Board has informed that none of the practical examinations will be conducted again and students would positively have to appear for their scheduled exam. The CBSE has also laid down several guidelines for the schools to make proper arrangements for the smooth conducting of the practical exams.

CBSE further informed the respective schools to coordinate with their external teachers and relieve them of their duties after they have finished since they might have to visit other schools for further duties.

Since the JEE (Main) January session will also be held during this time frame, CBSE has urged schools to plan their practicals accordingly. There is no fixed exam time table announced for the practical exams by the CBSE. Schools can decide their own time-table for practical exams keeping in mind the need of the students and time slots available with the external examiner.

The CBSE board practical exams will be held following the Covid guidelines. Students are suggested to adhere to the guidelines. To avoid mass gathering and social distancing, the schools may consider splitting the group/batch of students in sub groups of 15 students each. First sub group of 15 students may attend the lab work while the other is doing pen and paper work. Strict actions will be taken against students found guilty of any misconduct during the practical exams.

The board has stated in a release that schools should upload marks of all practical examinations/ project assessment/internal assessment simultaneously, starting from the dates of conduct of exams/assessments. The board has instructed schools to make correct and timely assessment of exams for Class 10 and Class 12 for declaration of result.
