The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that Class 12 students who are unable to appear for the Hindi exam on March 15 due to Holi celebrations will be given another opportunity to write the paper at a later date.
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that while Holi will be celebrated on March 14 in most parts of the country, some regions will observe the festival on March 15 or extend the celebrations into the day. Considering this, CBSE has decided to proceed with the exam as scheduled but provide relief to students affected by the festival.
“After receiving feedback, we have decided that students who are unable to appear for the exam on March 15 will be allowed to take it on a later date. They will be accommodated in a special examination session, as per the board’s policy for students who miss exams due to participation in national or international sports events,” Bhardwaj explained.
The board emphasized that students who wish to avail of this option should follow further instructions, which will be announced soon. Schools and regional CBSE offices are expected to coordinate and facilitate the process for eligible students.
This decision comes as a relief to many students and parents who were concerned about the clash between Holi celebrations and the crucial board examination. CBSE assured that all necessary arrangements would be made to ensure fairness and convenience for those affected.
