carnival

Over two energetic days, CHIREC International School transformed into a vibrant hub of innovation and imagination as it hosted the SPARKZ Mega Art, Design & Science Festival, drawing more than 5,000 attendees. The event brought together students, educators, artists, parents, and science enthusiasts in a unique celebration that seamlessly blended creativity and critical thinking.

Designed as an immersive experience, SPARKZ celebrated the intersection of art, design, and science, with hands-on activities that encouraged curiosity, collaboration, and exploration. The festival showcased the school’s commitment to fostering real-world learning and student agency through interactive zones and discovery-driven experiences.

A Festival of Learning in Motion

At every turn, visitors found something to engage the senses and spark the imagination. From student-led science experiments and robotics demonstrations to live art performances, pottery sessions, and digital showcases, SPARKZ created a space where children didn’t just observe—they participated, created, and innovated.

There were also dynamic workshops in sports such as soccer, archery, and shooting, adding to the festival’s holistic approach to education. Every space—indoors and out—was buzzing with activity, joy, and the spirit of learning through doing.

“SPARKZ was envisioned as a platform to celebrate curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, and this turnout proves the community’s hunger for meaningful engagement,” said Ms. Sanchita Raha, Principal of CHIREC International. “This wasn’t just a festival — it was a movement to reimagine learning as something joyous, interactive, and limitless.”

Standout Highlights

Among the many standout features of the festival were:

More Than Just an Event

The festival grounds were filled with music, food stalls, carnival-style games, and laughter—a true celebration of learning beyond the classroom. For many parents, SPARKZ was more than just a school event; it was a meaningful experience that highlighted how education can extend into shared family moments and community engagement.

Reflecting on the success of the event, Dr. Peter McLaughlin, CEO of CHIREC, remarked:“CHIREC’s vision, mission, and philosophy are all centered on nation-building. Our celebration of STEAM subjects—Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, and Mathematics—is a celebration of India’s journey to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Those monumental achievements start in our schools—with how we nurture, teach, and inspire.”

A Spark That Lasts

As the sun set on SPARKZ, it was clear that the festival had achieved something truly special. It was more than an event—it was a spark. One that lit up minds, connected generations, and reminded everyone that the most powerful learning happens when creativity and curiosity come together.
