Overview

Established under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society with 540 students and 40 teachers, the CBSE affiliated DPS Agra is a coeducational day school presently boasts 4,464 students mentored by 214 teachers.

Promoted by Sunil Agarwal in 2002 with the vision “to awaken joy in creative expression and develop a passion for learning” Delhi Public School, Agra (DPS Agra) has established an excellent national reputation for providing holistic 21st century education that enables students to “evolve as independent, life long learners and responsible citizens of the world”.

Initially located in the Poiyaghat neighborhood of Agra, the school later expanded to a new campus at Shastripuram which houses the senior wing (class III-XII).

Campus

The school’s well-landscaped 11 acre campus (senior wing) hosts state-of-the-art infrastructure that include 90 ICT-enabled classrooms, an auditorium suitably equipped with sound and light arrangements, four IT labs, Science laboratories, a Biotechnology laboratory, an integrated music and dance comlex, a recording studio, hockey, cricket, football grounds and fields, and well-maintained courts for tennis, basketball and squash.

Academics

Affiliated with the Delhi-based Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), DPS Agra follows student-centred pedagogies that enable development of the 4Cs of 21st century skills — Creativity, Critical thinking, Communication, and Collaboration.

The school prides itself for the ‘individual attention’ provided to each student to identify their strengths and challenges, equip them to develop their individual identities and collaborate to craft the best version of each one of them.

Assessment of pre-requisite skills is a measurable tool integrated into the teaching-learning process at DPS Agra which helps assess the competencies of a child across various skills. As an inclusive school, it offers carefully customised curriculum and pedagogies for the differently abled children.

The school has also introduced ‘Dhyana’ meditative writing to help the students to concentrate better while writing using the power of music.
