Exam preparation workshop for underprivileged students

40 underprivileged students from the Snehasadan shelter home and Reach Education Action Programme (REAP) NGO in Mumbai were mentored on various  aspects of exams preparation by Ravi Dharma, who has 34 years of teaching experience and 30 years in paper correction of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).
 
Target Publications Pvt. Ltd  hosted the workshop for  grade 10th and 12th students from REAP NGO and Snehasadan, a home for abandoned children in Andheri.
 
REAP runs 350 literacy centers in Mumbai, Nashik and rural areas. Their campaign, Operation Blackboard  covers more than 7,000 learners annually which include rag-pickers, child labourers, street, slum and tribal children. Since inception  REAP has successfully mainstreamed about 80,000 in schools for continuing education.
 
The workshop aimed to provide  insights for effective board exams preparation and Mr Dharma  shared invaluable knowledge on readiness for examinations, time management strategies, and stress management techniques.He gave practical demonstrations with sample exam papers and also covered examination dos and don’ts, and potential challenges like reaching the exam center on time and understanding permissible materials at the exam center. 
 
Students received guidance on effectively memorizing maps and were instructed on how to craft answers strategically in their answer sheets and advised to attempt all questions to maximize their chances of achieving full marks.

Fr Wellington Patil from Snehasadan, Andheri, said, “Engaging in activities related to board exams will instill confidence in our 10th and 12th-grade students and will undoubtedly benefit them.”
 
Target Publications Pvt.Ltd.  publishes educational books and collaborates with a non-profit organization, “Foundation for Learning & Development” among others.
