Haryana govt to give passport to girls with graduation degree

The Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently declared that girl students with graduation degrees will be given passports. He also added that the entire process of making the passports would be completed in the college premises only. 

“The state government has decided that all girl students should get a passport from their institutions along with their graduation degree”, announced the Haryana CM, according to ANI. The Haryana CM was Chief Guest at ‘Har Sir Helmet’ (Helmet for every head) programme organised Dr. Mangalsen Auditorium to distribute helmets of Stud Company and learning license to the youth of school, colleges and ITI in the age group of 18 to 25 years.

He also added that ,”Students will get a learner license while graduating from college at the age of 18 years with basic training on road safety and regulation. Wearing a helmet is important.” In a view to make youth aware of traffic rules and regulations, every student pursuing education in various colleges across the state will not only get necessary information about traffic rules but also will get a driving license in their educational institutions itself.

At the programme he distributed helmets to five youth adding that the ‘Har Sir Helmet’ is a program that gives the message as to how to safeguard your lives while commuting on roads. He said,”Studies show that if a person drives a vehicle wearing a helmet, there is an 80 per cent chance of survival in the accident.”

Earlier, the state education department announced schools in the state may re-open from July 27 while universities and colleges will remain shut till July 31. The order further added “e-learning for the students may be continued” and a decision on the reopening of higher education centres would be taken after consultation with vice-chancellors and all stakeholders.
