Commending the significant role played by Sainik Schools in the educational framework of Jammu and Kashmir, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, during the annual day celebration at Sainik School, Nagrota, reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting such institutions. Present at the event were Lt Gen Sanjeep Jain, General Officer Commanding of the Jammu-based 16 Corps, and Maj Gen Shailendra Singh, Chief of Staff and Local Board of Administration Chairman.
Sinha praised the school for consistently upholding its motto of “Gyan, Veerta aur Anushasan” (Knowledge, Bravery, and Discipline), highlighting the distinguished service its alumni provide to the nation across various sectors. He urged educational institutions and the teaching community to instill ideals of nation-building, shaping the youth into ambassadors of a progressive India.
During the event, Sinha handed over a 32-seater school bus worth Rs 21.38 lakh to school officials, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to supporting Sainik Schools. Emphasizing the need for an education system that reinforces culture and ethos, he stressed the importance of creating a strong, prosperous, and developed India.
Sinha advised students to focus on life skills, discover their inner voice, and learn through experiences and collaborations. He underscored the significance of discipline, strong character, and self-confidence in overcoming challenges for a promising future.
The Lt Governor congratulated the cadets of Sainik School, Nagrota, who excelled in the NDA examination. Sinha received a ceremonial guard of honour, presented academic awards to meritorious cadets, inaugurated an arts and science exhibition, and visited the school’s IT computer lab and Atal Tinkering Lab.
