August 8, 2022

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the JEE Main Session 2 results 2022 on August 8. At least 24 candidates have scored a perfect 100 in the engineering entrance exam with only two girls making it to the list. Students who appeared for the session 2 exams can now download their scorecards at the websites – nta.ac.in, ntaresults.nic.in, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

A total of 622034 candidates registered for the exams, out of which 540242 appeared in Session 2. A total of 6,48,555 boys and 2,57,031 girls had appeared in the JEE sessions this year.

The cumulative result of two sessions of JEE-Main were also declared.

Maximum candidates who have scored 100 NTA score are from Andhra Pradesh (5) and Telangana (5) followed by Rajasthan (4).

One candidate each from Haryana, Maharashtra, Assam, Bihar, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka, Jharkhand, has also bagged the perfect score.

According to officials, NTA score is not the same as percentage of marks obtained.

“NTA scores are normalised scores across multi session papers and are based on relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of the examinees,” a senior official said.

In the JEE Main final answer key for session 2, the NTA dropped a total of six questions as it was found that none of the answers were correct in that. However, candidates will not be awarded any marks for these questions.

The result of five students has been withheld for using unfair means, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA).

In the general category, a total of 18 students have scored the perfect 100, and two in the General-EWS category. Four students secured hundred in the OBC-NCL category, but none achieved the perfect score in the SC, ST and PwD categories.

The result for JEE Main session 1 exams (which were held from July 21 to July 30) was declared in the early hours of July 12. This year, a total of 14 candidates scored a perfect 300/300 score and Sneha Pareek became the only female topper among them.
