The motivational speeches he heard, words of encouragement from teachers and extra classes for academic toppers helped Yashas Gowda N ace the SSLC exams.
The class 10 state board exams were announced in Karnataka on Monday. Gowda is one of the four students who secured a perfect 625 score in the board exams.
A student of the Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji High School in Chikkaballapur, this student believes that his school’s contribution in helping him get a 100% mark is immense.
“I was supported by schoolteachers and the principal. School’s Chief administrative officer Shivarama Reddy gave students motivational speeches often and I was inspired by it. My parents pushed me to excel.
“I would be in school between 8 am and 6pm every day. Two hours of study post school was mandatory. Two months prior to the commencement of exams, my school identified a list of academic toppers and grouped them into a section called ‘Tapas’. We were guided by resource people from Bengaluru. We could ask for tips, get any doubts relating to the exam clarified. This helped,” said this district level throwball player.
Bhoomika R Pai, a student from New Macaulay English High School, Bengaluru, Anupama Shrishail Hireholi from Souvadathi in Belagavi and Bhimangoud Hanamantagoud Biradarpatil from Muddebihala of Vijayapura districts are among the others who have secured 625.
