In a bid to promote language learning as a skill in Indian educational ecosystem, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has taken a remarkable initiative to install Digital Language Labs in their schools.

This turn-key project of Digital Language Lab has been successfully implemented by Globus Infocom Limited, a leading Make in India brand in Education Technology, which has successfully enabled Digital Language Labs in 100 Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools across the country.

The primary objective of the project is to enrich language learning in schools by blending traditional pedagogical methods with modern and technologically-equipped resources, to develop language (Hindi, English & Sanskrit) as a skill among students and to improve their proficiency in these languages and improve their communication skills which are essential for almost all professional careers.

Pokhriyal also said, “India has been a country of rich linguistic history with different languages spoken and read. The language lab will be a stepping stone towards developing different language knowledge among children which will further enable them to understand and implement for a better growth”.

It focuses specifically on the four basic language learning skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing to attain proficiency in a language. With a fun-based learning structure, it offers students an effective solution with a structured academic curriculum to create a two-way environment in the classroom through complete linguistic immersion,” she added.

The graphical interface of Digital Language Labs that includes photos, illustrations, charts, maps, diagrams, simulations increases information retention among students and provides an in-depth understanding of concepts. The lab provides students with a conducive, focussed learning environment with individual systems, headphones & enthralling software to increase the pace of comprehension and individual learning.  Infused with both computer-led and instructor-led teaching methods, it is a well-balanced amalgamation of technology and tradition to learning.
