April 22, 2025

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President of the Amity Education Group, was conferred with the prestigious “Liver Champion Award” by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Vinay Kumar Saxena, on the occasion of World Liver Day at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS).

The award recognizes Dr. Chauhan’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to promoting liver health awareness and outreach across the country. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Rekha Gupta, Dr. S.K. Sarin, Director of ILBS, and other senior government dignitaries.

Under Dr. Chauhan’s guidance, the Amity Group of Institutions has played a pivotal role in strengthening national initiatives such as the Empathy Campaign and Project Prakash, which aim to prevent liver diseases and promote public health through widespread awareness and preventive education.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan said: “I am deeply honoured to receive this award from ILBS. A healthy society is essential to achieving our Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047. Liver health, being vital to overall well-being, must be given due attention. Since ancient times, our sages have emphasized the importance of good health. As Indians, we pray not only for our own well-being but for that of all humanity. Simple lifestyle changes—like avoiding alcohol and eating nutritious food—can significantly reduce the risk of liver disease. While the government has introduced several impactful schemes to address this issue, it is our collective responsibility as citizens to spread awareness and contribute to building a healthier and happier nation.”
