MP nursing college scam: CBI teams took bribes of Rs 2-10 lakh from each institute

The CBI investigation into the Madhya Pradesh nursing college scam revealed that officers allegedly took bribes of Rs 2-10 lakh from each institute for favorable inspection reports. Among those booked are CBI Deputy SP Ashish Prasad, inspectors Rahul Raj and Sushil Kumar Majoka, and 19 others. The CBI FIR names directors and chairpersons of eight nursing colleges, staff, and middlemen involved in the bribes.

The inspections, ordered by the Madhya Pradesh High Court, included CBI officers, Indian Nursing Council staff, and local patwaris. The CBI confirmed that bribes were exchanged for suitability reports, with amounts ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh shared among officials and middlemen. Additionally, nursing officers and patwaris received Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 and Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 respectively.

Key figures include Anil Bhaskaran of Malay College of Nursing, Ravi Bhadoria of RD Memorial College of Nursing and Pharmacy, and other directors like Jugal Kishor Sharma and Ashish Chouhan. Middlemen such as Jugal Kishore, Om Goswami, and others facilitated bribe collection and distribution.

CBI raids resulted in the arrest of 13 individuals, including prominent college officials and middlemen, after catching Rahul Raj accepting a Rs 10 lakh bribe from Anil Bhaskaran. The CBI emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, even within its ranks.
