In Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain, police have arrested a teacher for allegedly sexually exploiting minor students at an Ashram school, according to an official statement on Wednesday.
The arrest follows complaints from three boys, aged 12 and 14, studying at the religious institution, who alleged sexual abuse. Mahakal police station in-charge Ajay Verma confirmed that 80 children reside and study at the institution.
Three First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed under Indian Penal Code section 377 (unnatural offences) and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, leading to the arrest of one accused, Acharya Rajesh. The search is ongoing for another accused named in two cases, with investigations continuing.
