Promoted in 1987 by H.E.H Nawab Mir Barkat Ali Khan Mukarram Jah Bahadur to make quality education accessible to the low-income households of the historically significant Purani Haveli neighborhood of Hyderabad, the eponymous Mukarram Jah School, Hyderabad is a co-ed K-10 school affiliated with the Delhi-based Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). Over the years, the school has established an excellent national reputation for providing affordable high-quality education to the masses. MJS was ranked #2 countrywide in the inaugural EducationWorld Budget Private Schools Rankings 2020.

Campus

The 8-acre well designed Mukarram Jah School campus hosts five buildings with 15-18 classrooms each. The classrooms are equipped with the latest teaching-learning facilities. Well equipped physics, chemistry, computer and home-science labs enable hands-on learning for students.

Academics

Affiliated with CISCE, the school prepares students for the school-leaving ICSE (class X) examination through highly interactive learner-centred pedagogies.

Admission

Eligibility criteria:

For admission in Nursery, the child should be minimum 3 years and 2 months.

For other preprimary classes, besides age, child’s performance in previous class is also considered.

From class I onwards, the child needs to write an entrance exam.

For Nursery, application form is issued in the month of January. Interested parents can collect the form and submit within couple of days or as per the instructions of the management.

For other classes application form is issued after completion of the academic year and depends on vacancy available.

Fees – Students need to pay only tuition fee in 4 installments.

For pre-primary, primary and middle school, tuition fee is INR 1000 per month and for high school it is Rs. 1100 per month which can be revised by the management if required.

The MJS kho-kho team has bagged several laurels in inter-school kho-kho championships held over the years.

Accommodation

Being a day school Mukarram Jah School, Hyderabad does not offer accommodation facility.
