For students seeking a niche course, in line with the modern-day industry needs NMIMS (Deemed to be University) is offering a contemporary course to its list with the introduction of B.Sc. (Tech.) in Cosmeticology and Perfumery with a focus on student development and application in fieldwork.

 The course is being offered in the Navi Mumbai Campus of NMIMS and applications have been invited for the course.

 The first two years of the course’s curriculum focuses on the foundation of cosmeticology and perfumery which will allow graduates to develop their interest in a specific area or function. “The focus is always experimental learning and applications in the field of cosmetics and perfumery. In line with this objective, the course work comprises of lectures and practicals and internships throughout the course,” a note from the college read.

 The course is reviewed by a board of studies, comprising experts from academia, research institutions, and industry from across the country to keep pace with the growing industry demands. In the final year, students get hands on experience and pursue a six months research project or internships in academia, research institutions, or labs.

Students gaining a bachelor’s degree in Cosmetics and Perfumery are equipped with advanced knowledge of industrial processes and their applications through meticulously planned 8 semesters academic sessions.

Much in line with the proposed National Education Policy, the course allows students to take interdisciplinary elective courses and study any foreign language during the course.

“Practical papers that are application-oriented, in line with the requirements of the industry, adds further value to the degree. The opportunity to improve soft skills as well as scientific writing,” the college authorities said.

Student intake:
A total of 40 seats are available for the B. Sc. (Tech.) Cosmeticology and Perfumery programme.
 
Degree options
Regular B. Sc. (Tech.) Cosmeticology and Perfumery programme – 4 years (8 semesters)
B. Sc. (Hons.) Cosmeticology and Perfumery degree- 3 years (6 semesters)
Students return within 3 years (6 semesters) and get admission to complete fourth year for the completion of B. Sc. (Tech.) Cosmeticology and Perfumery degree later
