Delhi University is the most sustainable institute in India according to the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024 which was published on December 5.
The QS Sustainability Rankings 2024 features nearly 1,400 universities from across the world and are evaluated using a methodology comprising indicators designed to measure an institution’s ability to tackle the world’s greatest environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges.
In India, Delhi University, which is ranked #220 in the world rankings is the only one from India to be featured in the top 300.
Worldover, the University of Toronto, Canada has been ranked the highest followed by University of California and The University of Manchester
In India, the other top universities include Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.
The report has it that Indian institutes perform well on indicators of environmental impact. Environmental Sustainability quantifies an institution’s commitment to, its implementation and its sustainability and climate strategies. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is ranked #49 and is #10 in Asia.
