Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra emphasized the importance of preserving human values in today’s world and called upon universities to fully implement the new education policy (NEP). He highlighted that true education goes beyond textbooks, connecting students with a deeper understanding of their environment.
Addressing a gathering after the 33rd convocation of Rajasthan University and the inauguration of Constitution Park, Mishra underscored the critical need for universities to adopt the NEP entirely. He urged them to design courses that accelerate India’s developmental progress.
In an effort to imbue the younger generation with an appreciation for the Constitution, Constitution parks are being established in universities under Raj Bhavan’s initiative. Mishra discussed the symbolic value of the Constitution’s engravings in conveying India’s cultural ideals.
The governor stressed that universities should prepare youth to meet contemporary challenges, emphasizing skill development alongside academic learning. He also invoked the educational philosophy of C. Rajagopalachari during the convocation ceremony, which he described as the beginning of a new chapter for students.
Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Premchand Bairwa affirmed that education enriches life, highlighting the state government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education in Rajasthan.
During the ceremony, Rajasthan University Vice Chancellor Alpana Kateja presented the university’s progress report, following which the governor awarded degrees and gold medals to deserving students.
