The Rajasthan government has decided to conduct physical examinations of college and university students 2020-2021 at the end of July or during the first week of August. Students who are in their final year or third year of college or university (undergraduate or postgraduate) or will be appearing for their examinations and the results will be declared by September 30, 2021. The examinations will be conducted amidst strict Covid guideline for students, teaching staffs and other non-teaching members to ensuring less infection among all.
The decision has been taken keeping in mind the guidelines of UGC, Supreme Court and suggestions of the departmental committee.
Bhanwar Singh Bhati, higher education minister of Rajasthan called a Press Conference at his residence on Sunday and announced the decision. College students who are in their first year will be evaluated on the basis of their class 10 and class 12 marks and promoted to second year. Students of second year will be promoted provisionally and their online classes will begin from July 10.
The second year examination will be conducted at a later date after the situation improves and is conducive to hold examinations offline. The examination will either be objective or descriptive. and results will be declared by December 31, 2021.
Bhati further added that the paper for each subject would only be 1.5 hours and students would have the option to answer only 50 percent of the questions in the paper.
The colleges and universities in Rajasthan have been closed in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and all academic activities are being conducted online. Many colleges have also decided to conduct online examinations for intermediate semesters this year.
Meanwhile, the board exams for Class 10 and 12 students have been cancelled this year in view of the Covid-19 situation across the state of Rajasthan, and the results are being calculated on the basis of alternative evaluation criteria, where students will be promoted without the exams.
