Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar, Bhopal is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Established in 2005 by the Sagar Group which was founded by Shree Sudhir Kumar Agrawal in 1983, the school caters to the educational needs of children from pre-primary through senior secondary level.

Campus

The school campus comprises a well stocked library, a junior science lab, language lab, AV lab, math lab, computer labs and well equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology for the senior section. The school also hosts yoga rooms, dance room, instrumental and vocal music rooms, sports and judo coaching room and art and craft studios. Academics

Education in the pre primary section is offered through the Montessori approachwhich encourages children todeveloppractical, intellectual, physical and social discipline. In the middle school, teachers make use of diagrams, graphical representation, charts and models. English, math and EVS teachers extensively use the language lab, math lab and junior science lab where various lessons are conducted. Practical learning is imparted through educational visits to various museums, engineering and technological institutes and industries.

In secondary classes, the curriculum is flexible, need based and adopts a learner centered approach. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) is practiced through unit tests, pre term and terminal exams. Assessment in classes VI-X is made at formative and summative levels, by conducting different activities and through the written examinations. Students are exposed to MCQs, projects, creative writing, listening skills, narration, story writing, dialogues, class presentations, enactments, source analysis, Power Point Presentations etc. Projects, exhibitions, presentations or field trips ensure that the learner finds many avenues to see the theory in practice. Science subjects are imparted to knowledge and activity-based approach to make students think inventively. The curriculum also includes humanities, fine arts, performing arts and a host of co-curricular activities including sports are also imparted for wholesome and liberal attitude to life and relationships.

Students of the senior secondary school are also prepared to appear in the various competitive examinations through class room coaching system specially designed by the expert faculty of SPS. In senior secondary school students are prepared for examinations in the fields of humanities, science and commerce as per CBSE curriculum. The school offers a special program classes XI and XII that provides a tremendous advantage to students in terms of content for higher education, common entrance tests and college placement tests. Assessments are based on projects, science exhibitions, activities, research, weekly quiz competitions, presentations and monthly reviews. Field trips, workshops and guest lecturers and interactions with experts and specialists in various fields are also conducted regularly.

Admission to classes IX and above is based on performance in the entrance exam and admission to class XI and allocation of stream is done on the basis of class X result, marks scored in the entrance test and the student’s aptitude.
