Truman State University, one of the highest-rated public universities in the United States, is now offering merit-based scholarships of up to $10,000 for high-achieving students from India.

With an outstanding curriculum and exemplary academic standards, Truman offers Indian students a pathway to a bright future. Rated as the No. 1 public university in the Midwest region for 24 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report, Truman provides intellectually curious students an active, rigorous learning environment that develops future problem solvers and leaders.

“Indian students have a lot to offer to our learning community,” said Tim Urbonya, executive director of international education at Truman. “We have had a modest, but steady flow of very successful students from India for a number of years, and now we are making a special initiative to welcome the growing number of high-achieving students from India who are looking for quality education at an affordable price.”

Located on a campus filled with tree-lined sidewalks, beautiful landscaping and a combination of historic and contemporary buildings, the University provides a strong array of academic programs through its five distinct schools for: business; health sciences and education; science and mathematics; arts and letters; and social and cultural studies.

“We’re a student-centered university,” Urbonya said. “Every step of the journey is focused on the distinct needs and potential of our students, and we strive to develop professionals with the leadership qualities and skills needed to succeed throughout their careers.”

Truman is nationally known for its assessment program, which is designed to measure student learning and outcomes. The University’s retention and graduation rates are consistently among the highest in the state, and Truman is consistently recognized in national publications such as U.S. News & World Report, Consumers Digest, Washington Monthly, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance and Forbes for being a university that offers a high-quality education at a price that is accessible and affordable.

Since 1914, Truman has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Truman seeks to represent enduring values of the university tradition, including academic freedom, intellectual integrity, and equality to the Indian students aspiring to study abroad. Students interested in learning more about Truman can visit:
