The State Education Department has announced that 928 schools in the state have been shortlisted for a mega revamp with modern facilities under the PM Shri scheme (PM Schools for Rising India). The aim of the initiative is to provide quality education to children and create a learning-friendly atmosphere. Out of the 928 schools, 842 are primary schools, and 86 are secondary schools.
The revamp will ensure that every student feels welcomed, cared for, and receives a safe and stimulating learning environment. The schools will offer a wide range of learning experiences, good infrastructure, and appropriate resources conducive to learning. This will enable students to enjoy their classes and lessons and increase their adoption of qualitative education.
According to Vijay Kiran Anand, Director General of School Education, older schools have been given additional grants for refurbishment in line with the vision of the central and state governments. Furthermore, several well-functioning schools are being converted into model schools to achieve better learning outcomes.
The schools selected under the PM Shri scheme will be equipped with modern facilities such as science and computer labs, smart classrooms, libraries, and sports facilities. The revamp will help in creating a more conducive environment for learning, helping children to receive quality education and improve their overall educational experience.
