A 15-year-old boy reportedly died by suicide in a village in this region on Monday, following alleged physical abuse by two school teachers, according to the police.
The boy, Danveer, was discovered hanging in a room at his residence in Kel village within the Gunnaur area.
Danveer’s father, Bhure Singh, filed a complaint with the police, stating that his son was a Class 7 student at Haribaba Adarsh Public School in the same village. Singh claimed that his son had been physically assaulted by his teachers, Dharamveer and Hemant, at the school. Consequently, in a fit of anger, his son took his own life.
Based on the father’s complaint, a case has been registered against the two teachers under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and an investigation is underway.
