At Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomtinagar – Lucknow, creative writing is an integral part of education. Students as young as those in Class 1 are encouraged to express themselves and unleash their imagination through writing. This is carried throughout the primary years, thus creating young adults who are not only avid readers but also aspiring authors.
Two of students – Priyamvada Singh of 10 A and Manya Vats of 12 A of Seth MR Jaipuria School have become published authors. Priyamvada and Manya participated in the Scholastic – Quill Club Writers’ guided writing and publishing programme, ‘Write Now’, that identifies aspiring, talented writers from across the country, through a 2-step selection process; provides mentorship and moulds them into published authors.
Priyamvada’s story, titled ‘What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger’ has been included in an anthology called Golden Light whereas Manya’s story True Colors has been published in the anthology, Inky Blue.
