Dehradun based University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), India’s leading institute of higher learning, hosted ‘Unleash’ – a mega career and counselling event – at Hotel Taj Mahal, Mansingh Road, New Delhi on Sunday, April 22.
On the occasion, youth icon and best-selling author Durjoy Datta, wowed the students and parents alike with his inspiring life journey. They also got an opportunity to have a glimpse of UPES’ state-of-the-art campuses in Dehradun through virtual reality. The event witnessed participation of over 450 students and parents.In his keynote address, Durjoy Dutta, a mechanical engineer and management graduate by qualification, advised students to “have short-term and long-term goals in terms of education, career, and passion and personality development and be serious about them”.
“I realised I have the power of words. You need to realise your own powers,” he added.
Senior faculty member at UPES, Loveraj Thakru, counseled the students present at ‘Unleash’ and said, “UPES has designed specialised programmes in engineering, computer science, law, design and business. Curriculum of these programmes is updated every year in consultation with our industry partners to ensure that our courses are completely aligned with what the industry demands. This also ensures that our students are highly employable”.
