Deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia on Tuesday alleged that “BJP goons” carried out acts of violence in an under-construction school building. The minister was inspecting the construction at Rohtas Nagar when the incident happened. He shared a few pictures on his Twitter handle claiming that his government vehicle was also vandalised during the incident.
“Today, the BJP workers and goons opposed to the construction of school in Rohtas Nagar and vandalised the building. They vandalised my government vehicle and misbehaved with female teachers and the workers and engineers involved in construction work. Why are BJP workers opposed to education and construction of schools?” Sisodia asked in his tweet posted in Hindi.
Leader of Opposition Rambhir Singh Bidhuri, however, shunned off Sisodia’s remarks and said that the BJP workers led by Rohtas Nagar MLA Jitender Mahajan were trying to submit a memorandum to Sisodia when the AAP workers attacked them. Sisodia and PWD minister Satyender Jain were inspecting under construction schools at Babarpur, Karawal Nagar, Rohtas Nagar and Gokalpur on Tuesday.
Satyender Jain further added that even the BJP took all efforts to stop them, the AAP government would continue to serve people.
Bidhuri has said that Mahajan that informed the authorities well in advance regarding the submission of the memorandum to the deputy chief minister. The memorandum talked about termination of services of guest teachers and non-payment of salaries to teachers. It was also stated that those who die due to oxygen shortage should be given Rs 10 lakh compensation and a government job.
He further added “Many BJP workers have been injured. There is no place for violence in society. We will soon file a police complaint against the attack. A delegation will meet the Delhi Police Commissioner to fast track the case and punish the culprits.”
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said “A group of BJP workers only raised slogans when Sisodia refused to meet them.”
