Law or legal education is a field of study pursued by individuals to become legal professionals or practitioners. It is one of the popular career choices apart from engineering and medicine. India boasts several renowned law colleges like the National Law Universities, Symbiosis Law Schools, UPES, ILS Law College, Jamia Milia Islamia and more.

Here are some of the top Law entrance exams in India that students can opt for:

The eligibility criteria for aspirants is they should clear the class 12 exam. There is no upper age limit to write the exam.

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 

Conducted by the consortium comprising 22 participating National Law Universities, the CLAT exam is accepted by the top law schools for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The entrance exam is held in written mode and the duration is two hours. The application process for 2021 has already begun and the last date for submission of the exam form is March 31.

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)

AILET is conducted and accepted by the National Law University, Delhi (NLUD). The courses offered at NLU Delhi are BA LLB (Hons.) and LLM course. The last date for submission of the application form is May 20.

Exam subjects: English including Comprehension, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Quantitative Techniques, Legal Reasoning, and, Logical Reasoning

SLAT or SET Law

This entrance exam is conducted by SIU Pune – Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admissions to its undergraduate courses at – Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, SLS Hyderabad, SLS Nagpur and SLS Noida. This exam is also held in a written mode.

Law School Admission Test India (LSAT India)

Conducted by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) to gain admission to Integrated LL.B. and LL.M. programmes at law instituites like LSAC Global Law Alliance, Asiam Law College, JIS University, LPU, GITAM School of Law, ISBR Law College, etc.

The LSAT India 2021 application process has already begun and the last date to apply is April 20.

Exam subjects – Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning 1 & 2, Reading Comprehension and Variable section

The exam duration is 2 hours 20 minutes and the total number of questions is 150 MCQs & the total marks are 150. marks.

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell  (MH CET Cell)

The entrance exam is conducted for LLB courses offered at the Maharashtra state universities and law colleges. The law entrance exam is conducted at a state-level by the Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) Maharashtra. The exam is held in computer-based test mode for a duration of two hours.
