A class 12 student allegedly committed suicide in Gurugram by jumping from the balcony of his flat. According to IANS, he has jumped from the 11th floor of the building. The student was accused by a girl of molestation on social media on the same day as the ‘Bois Locker Room’ group controversy came to light.
An officer said, “No suicide note was found but messages retrieved from the boy’s phone showed that fellow students warned him that he will be questioned by the police.” The police are investigating his alleged involvement in ‘Bois Locker Room’ Instagram account.
The report adds, “The police official ruled out any foul play during preliminary investigation. The deceased has not left any suicide note. Further action will be taken only after detailed reports of his mobile analysis is received. As of now, legal proceedings under CrPC 174 have been initiated.”
The girl in her social media post claimed she was attacked two years ago and was “tired of keeping this a secret”. She further described the alleged incident that happened in her apartment’s basement and named him.
The parents have allegedly refused to file any police complaint. Hence, the police have started a suicide inquiry under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Deepak Mathur, the forensic expert who conducted the autopsy said, “There were multiple injuries, including head injury, which caused the death.”
“We have seized his mobile phone and sent to forensic lab for analysis. We have also involved cyber crime cell to investigate his social media accounts and nature of chatting he does, to understand his character and possible reason of taking extreme step,” said Deepak Kumar, SHO of sector 53 police station.
