The alumni and current students of a school in Navi Mumbai have alleged sexual harassment and assault against a male teacher on the premises of the school. The students accused the teacher of sexually harassing several children in the last five years.

Both male and female students have accused the teacher of touching them inappropriately, passing comments on girls’ bras and skirt’s length. He also grabbed a boy by his genitals and spanked them. The accused man’s behaviour was normalised by other teachers of the school, added the students. According to reports, two former students including a girl and a boy sent anonymous complaints to the school administration through email.

Another student alleged that on a rainy day, the teacher came near her and commented on the colour of her bra while on several occasions he allegedly grabbed the students by their waist and said he wanted to talk to them in private.

The accused also attempted to scare the girl, who complained against him saying he would lodge a case against her. The teacher told told Mumbai Mirror, “Just imagine that a girl soaked in the rain and she is wearing a pink or dark-coloured bra. It looks bad.” He added that he later apologised to the girl.
