NISA delegation meets Venkaiah Naidu for budget schools’ demands

March 24, 2022

National delegation of the National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA), met vice president Venkaiah Naidu at his residence in New Delhi to discuss about giving a separate status to Budget schools. The representatives of the delegation included Kulbhushan Sharma, president; Madhusudan Sadula, vice president (Advocacy); Tulasi Prasad vice president (Quality); Gopal Reddy from Telangana and Thomas Antony from Delhi.

Kulbhushan Sharma requested Naidu to consider giving a separate status to the budget schools as these schools are taking less fees than government schools. He also suggested that separate rules should be made for them.

Madhusudan Sadula told the vice president that the Right to Education Act should be amended and under section 12(1) (c) all the students who are being selected under the Right to Education Act should be provided an amount under Direct Benefit Transfer so that they can choose the school of their choice.

Tulasi Vishnu Prasad said that the government should also give proper representation to the delegates of budget private schools in the State School Standard Authority so that these schools can provide their constructive and positive cooperation in making the education policy successful.

Vice president Naidu assured the delegation that their demands would be conveyed to the government so that appropriate action could be taken.
