The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced more than 100 open online courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) will be offering 78 undergraduate, 46 post-graduate non-engineering MOOC’s in January semester on SWAYAM platform– swayam.gov.in. The course-wise class and exam dates are available on the website.
University or college students will be allowed to avail the credit transfer benefits from the course they choose. It will be beneficial for academic fraternity and, working professionals.
Candidates enrolled as regular or part-time students with the affiliated colleges and universities including the Delhi University, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will be allowed to avail the course-credit transfer benefit.
In 2019, six courses from SWAYAM were listed under Class Central’s 30 best online courses. The courses are academic writing, digital marketing, animations, mathematical economics, python for data science, early childhood care and education (ECCE).
Candidates enrolled as regular or part-time students with the affiliated colleges and universities including the Delhi University, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will be allowed to avail the course-credit transfer benefit from this system.
Separate Swayam mentors from various regions are also appointed to guide the students in taking up the online courses. UGC has launched specific online courses for the academic fraternity, professionals, senior citizens as well as homemakers.
