11th Convocation of Navrachna University

21 students bag Gold, 729 awarded degrees at Navrachana University’s 11th Convocation

21 outstanding students, 12 girls and 9 boys, were honoured with gold medals at the recently hosted 11th Convocation of Navrachana University, Vadodara. Three students, two of them women, also received their PhD degrees. Of the 729 graduating students, 381 were girls and 348 were boys. While 25 students received degrees upon completion of 5-year integrated programmes, 160 students received Master’s degrees while 541 students received Bachelor’s degrees.

In his inaugural address, chief guest Arjun Malhotra, pioneer of the Indian IT industry, encouraged the graduating students to use their education to make a positive impact on the world. “Today, we are not just celebrating your achievements, but also the enormous potential each one of you holds. Remember, your degree is not just a piece of paper, it is a symbol of your hard work, determination, and the things you have learned. Use your education to make a positive impact on the world. Believe in yourself and know that you can achieve your dreams,” he asserted. Acknowledging the constant change in the world, he urged students to embrace change and pursue their dreams.

Rahul Amin, president, Navrachana University, proudly announced that Navrachana University had received Grade A in the cycle 1 evaluation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of the UGC. He also highlighted that under the Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework 2023, the School of Science had moved from 3-star to 5-star rating, the architecture and management programmes received 4 stars, and the University’s overall rating was 3 stars. “Learning continues even after graduation. Look forward every day to augmenting your skill sets and building newer capabilities. You will need it all to address the challenges of the outside world,” he advised the young graduates.

The convocation commenced with a warm welcome address and presentation of the annual report by Navrachana University provost Professor Pratyush Shankar. Tejal Amin, chairperson, Navrachana Education Society, led the oath ceremony, emphasising the importance of ethics and responsibility in the graduates’ future endeavours. The varsity registrar Prof. Sandeep Vasant delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to everyone for making the event a huge success.
