Overview

Ryan International School, Amritsar is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Started in 2003, Ryan International School, Amritsar is part of the Ryan International Group of Institutions, one of the most prominent groups of private educational institutions in India founded in 1976 by Dr. Augustine F. Pinto.

Ryan International School does not believe in stuffing young minds with knowledge; instead they endeavour to kindle the flame of creativity and inquisitiveness. The school believes that true education does not end with dissemination of bookish information but begins with an irrepressible curiosity to know the unknown, to think the unthinkable and to turn the impossible of yesteryears into the possible of today.

Campus

The 2 acre school campus hosts world class infrastructure including a well-stocked library with a collection of over 5080 books, well-equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology, dance rooms, music rooms and a medical infirmary.

The school also houses an indoor games block for table tennis and chess, a field for football, courts for basketball and handball, and facilities for judo and skating.

Academics

Apart from emphasising on academic excellence, the school organises various character building activities to strengthen the morals of students and to help them deal with obstacles in academics and life.

The school calls its teaching methodology a lean approach and defines it as KASSM – Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, Social and Moral Values. The school believes that this approach creates a learning environment that is adaptable and flexible, facilitating potential changes in the higher education pattern done with an objective to support the new academic paradigm that provides learning for students in a manner most suited to them.

Extracurriculars

Training is provided in sports such as table tennis, chess, football, basketball, handball, athletics, swimming, judo and skating.

Students participate in various cultural and literary events. The Ryan Group hosts the Indian Model United Nations (INMUN), International Children’s Festival of Performing Arts (ICFPA), ICEPLEX a Ryan Media Initiative, Journalism – Beyond Breaking News (BBN), trips to NASA, Social Service Teen Camp and helps its students prepare for competitive exams.
