SPDH Sindhi Model Senior Secondary School, Kellys, Chennai is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school was promoted by Sindhi Model School in 1975 with 42 children from nursery through class V. The school was upgraded to a senior secondary school in 1980 and was recognised by the CBSE and was granted permanent affiliation April 1987. The school today boasts more than 2000 children and 91 teaching staff. It aims at all round personality development with deep roots in culture, patriotism, devotion, duty, discipline, character and conduct.
The school aims to offer holistic education, help children acquire knowledge, and enable them to be well versed and updated with the progressive trends in all spheres including technological achievements and sports alongside imbibing ethical values and virtues in them. It strives to mould them into patriotic citizens with social awareness and responsibility.
The school hosts spacious and well furnished classrooms, laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics, two computer labs, audio visual room, indoor stage and open air auditorium, special auditorium for indoor games like table tennis, chess and carom, basketball court and a play ground.
In classes I to V, the subjects offered are English, II language (Hindi/Tamil), mathematics, science, social science, moral and Vedic instruction, work experience, art, music and computer science. For classes VI to VIII, the subjects offered are English, II language (Hindi/Tamil), III language (Hindi/Tamil), mathematics, integrated science, social science (history, civics, geography), disaster management, life skills, work experience, computer science and art education.
Classes IX and X have English course A, Hindi course B or Tamil, mathematics, integrated science, social science (history, civics, geography, economics) electrical gadgets, computer science and physical and health education.
Classes IV to VIII have Sanskrit as a compulsory language to facilitate learning of Slokas.
