Grand Columbus International School, Faridabad is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Founded on April 1, 1991, the school is named after the great explorer Christopher Columbus. Grand Columbus International School is supported by A D Educational Society.
The school’s mission is to develop effective individuals capable of handling the rapidly changing global environment of the 21st century and produce responsible citizens who are able to contribute to the community and the nation.
The 1.5 acre school campus houses well ventilated classrooms, a library stocked with a wide collection of books and CD–ROMs, staff resource centre equipped with internet facility and software to prepare lessons for computer aided learning, well equipped labs for math, physics, chemistry and biology. The school also hosts a computer lab, technology resource centre, activity centre for kindergarten, music room, art room, theatre, infirmary and a canteen.
For the pre-primary children, the school stresses on play, learning through fun activities, and fosters overall development of the child with a scientific curriculum which encompasses knowledge, life-skills and talent. The primary section curriculum is child centric and activity based and the middle school curriculum is based on NCERT guidelines while keeping it child-centric, interesting and activity oriented. In the senior school, the CBSE syllabus is followed and the school conducts seminars, visits by eminent guest faculty/speakers, visits and project work form an integral part of learning at school. The school prepares students not only for board exams but also for competitive exams.
