Overview

Promoted in 1999, Mary Mount Public School, Ettumanoor is the first educational venture of the Little Workers of Sacred Hearts Congregation (LWSH) in India which boasts schools in Italy, USA, Argentina and Albania. Rooted in the spirit of Christian missionary traditions, the school aims to create a society comprising of intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, psychologically integrated, physically healthy and socially acceptable champions of love, peace, truth, justice and gender equality.

Mary Mount Public School is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and offers education from class I through X. The school provides optional accommodation and transport services.

Campus

Mary Mount Public School hosts 55 classrooms in a campus that is fire-safety enabled and disabled friendly. The school strives to utilise Computer Aided Education via smart class rooms that provide teachers with many tools (such as videos, animation, graphics etc.) to create a “multi-sensory learning experience for students”.

The school hosts a meticulously maintained library featuring a rich collection of 6910 books, subscriptions to 35 different educational journals and periodicals, and a seating capacity of 60. Besides math and science laboratories, the school also hosts a “Language Lab”. Two air conditioned Computer labs with 100 computers are available for use from 10 AM to 3 PM on all working days. The lab also hosts broadband internet, scanning, and printing services.

The school hosts its own playground and a gymnasium with facilities for athletics, indoor and outdoor games. The campus houses a canteen, a multipurpose hall, hostel facilities, and medical services for students on the campus.

Mount Mary Public School also offers pick-up and drop transport service.

Affiliated with CBSE since 2004, Mount Mary Public School offers the following subjects: English, Hindi, Malayalam, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Science, Environmental Studies, Computer science, General Knowledge, Moral Science, Environmental Education, Value Education, Life Skill, Physical and Health Education, Art education, Work Education etc.

Coaching classes in Bharathanatyam, Hindustani and Karnatic Music are also arranged by the school. Other co-curricular activities such as Indian Folk Dance, Classical Dance, Needle work, Karate, Kung fu, Yoga, Musical Instruments, Western Music, Drawing, Painting, Magic, KolKalli, Theatre, and Abacus are taught by proficient teachers. Admission

The school takes in admission applications from January to May every year. The admission form can either be collected from the office or be downloaded from the school website. Online applications are also entertained, please check the school website.

The following documents must be presented at the time of admission:

Copy of the Birth Certificate

Transfer Certificate from the school last attended

Fitness Certificate

Two passport size photographs (foreign students must produce a valid student visa and a copy of their passport too).

In case of downloaded applications, a DD for 500 rupees drawn in favour of Mary Mount Public School, Kattachira payable at Ettumanoor must be enclosed. A face to face interaction with the principal is compulsory for every candidate and his/her parents.

Accommodation

The school provides warden-supervised hostels for both boys and girls. Telephone facilities, study rooms and spacious dining rooms are provided in addition to basic medical, recreational and laundry facilities. Admission to the hostel is open exclusively to students from above class V studying at Mary Mount Public School. Students living in the hostels are provided utmost care for their academic, spiritual, social and moral growth.
