Mercedes-Benz International School (MBIS) is situated in Pune, Maharashtra, and offers the International Baccalaureate program, Geneva. The school is a three hour journey along an expressway, from Mumbai, the commercial capital of India. It is located in Hinjawadi, an infotech park in Pune’s urban-rural belt. The school is co-educational and a day -cum-residential school with around 230 students. The director of the school is Mr. Michael Thompson.
The IB program has three parts: the students from kindergarten to class V are in the primary year program section, the students from class VI-X are in the middle year program section and the students in class XI and XII are in the diploma program section.

The Mercedes-Benz International School is set in a beautifully appointed campus, forty minutes from the city centre, with 14 classrooms, laboratories, a two storey library and media centre, music rooms, cafeteria, sports grounds and a swimming pool.
The school has a well equipped medical room which is located in the boarding house and is managed by the nurse. A registered medical practitioner visits the premises twice a week. In the case of emergencies the school has a link with The Aditya Birla Multi-Specialty Hospital, located just 20 minutes away.
Excellent Indian, Asian and Continental food is offered, prepared under clean and hygienic conditions by Sodexo. The menus are prepared to meet the needs and beliefs of the different cross sections of the student community. A supervised, structured and motivating environment is provided in study rooms with access to networked computer facilities and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The school gives equal importance to the sports and cultural activities of the students. Excellent facilities are provided for sports. Annual sports day is organized for the students to showcase their talents. In addition to the regular after school activities/clubs, the boarding students partake daily in outdoor games like football, cricket, badminton and swimming. Purposeful and object orientated weekend outings and activities are regularly arranged providing knowledge and fun.

LabsAll admissions to MBIS are on first come first served basis. Students in the age group of 3 to 18 can apply for admission.
Generally, the admission procedure for the new school year is conducted during March/April. However, students coming from abroad can be admitted throughout the year. Parents are advised to contact the school admissions office as early as December and put in the application package for admission soon after. All the forms are filed in order of receipt and new admission offers are against vacancies only. This is normally confirmed by April/May. Payment of the admission fee and registration fee will confirm your admission to MBIS.
For students with a mother tongue other than English the admission procedure will include an oral, and, for students from the 4th grade onwards, written English test. On the basis of this assessment, classroom support or and English as a second language course will be provided if necessary.
Some students will be admitted on an assessment basis.
Mercedes-Benz International School is an inclusive school and has a small department to help a limited number of students having special needs.
Fees
Fee of INR 2.500 per child is payable upon application and must accompany the application form. The approved tuition fee structure is different for Indian and expatriate students. The annual fee for pre –school students is around 2-4 lakh and for classes I-XII it is Rs 5-9 lakh annually.
The annual hostel fee is around Rs 2.5 lakh annually.

There is a hostel provided at the school for both male and female students with hostel parents who look after the children. The boarding facility provides a homely environment.
It is a modern structure, fully air-conditioned four-storey building with separate sections for boys and girls. The accommodation comprises of spacious, well furnished mosquito proofed rooms with four beds and attached wash rooms. An environmentally friendly solar water heating system is used for the supply of 24-hour hot water. Provision also exists for 24-hour power supply with generator back up. This is duly supported with emergency lights.
Common facilities within the boarding house include study rooms, T.V and recreation room, indoor games and gym. Computers with Wi-Fi access and secure broadband internet connectivity are standard. The boarding house has the capacity to accommodate 40 boarders at any time and is a self contained unit located within the school campus.
The boarding parents are available at all times to oversee the wellbeing, safety and security of the boarders along with the in-house staff. In addition, MBIS has a 24 hour professional security service along with CCTV surveillance for the whole campus. Each floor of the boarding facilities has a laundry room which is equipped with a washing machine, a dryer and an iron operated by the respective house keeper on each floor. A professional laundry service is also provided for linen.
