Burn Hall School, Srinagar is an all-boys day school affiliated to the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) and offers education from LKG to class XII. The school was first promoted in 1943 in undivided India in Abbottabad (present day Pakistan), and on April 17, 1956, the school was re-established in Srinagar.
Burn Hall School is a Christian missionary institution and is managed by the Catholic Diocese of Jammu, Srinagar. It enjoys an enviable reputation in the city. The school’s motto is “Quo Non Ascendam” which means “To what heights can I not rise?”
The school hosts two libraries, one for the students of class IV to X and the other for higher secondary classes. The libraries are well stocked with dictionaries, encyclopedia, enriching books, journals, magazines, etc. There are three well-equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology, and one lab for computer science. The campus also includes an auditorium, staff rooms, exam office, and dressing room. The school also offers generator backup.
Other facilities include three language rooms, a demo hall and a media hall. The pre-primary students are provided with LCD TVs in their classrooms for audio-visual learning.
The school clinic is equipped with necessary medicines and is attended by a qualified person. The canteen serves students fresh food items, snacks, cool and hot drinks.
Sports infrastructure includes a basketball court, volleyball court, indoor games’ venue, football ground, sports room and a playground for younger children.
The school follows the curriculum prescribed by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE). The academic year starts in the first week of November and ends in the last week of October. The academic year is divided into two terms. The first term extends from November to June and the second term from July to October.
Extracurricular
The school has various associations for cultural activities, literary activities, environment and science. Students form assembly, discipline, cleanliness and decoration committees. Clubs for mathematics, computers, outreach and wall magazine help students learn experientially. Annual summer camps, education excursions, picnics, bal-mela, science exhibitions, etc, are organised.
The school teams participate regularly in district and state level sports competitions. The school organizes hill races, cross country runs and camps.

The Burn Hall School football, basketball and cricket teams have won several competitions in Jammu and Kashmir. The teams have also played in the premier Subrato tournaments. All the players of Srinagar district handball team are from Burn Hall School.
