Delhi Public School, Varanasi was flagged off in the year 2002 by the Delhi Public School (DPS) Society and commenced its academic sessions from 2003. The school is affiliated with the New Delhi based Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and offers classes from nursery to class XII.

DPS Varanasi is a member of VSAT linked Edu-Link initiative of the DPS Society, through which students can attend online classes and learn from teachers belonging to the All India DPS Fraternity

A formal written test in languages and maths is conducted for children seeking admission to class I and above. An addition assessment of science is done for students of classes VI-IX.
