Sanjay Godhawat International School (SGIS) is a co-educational day cum boarding school situated in the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. Affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, Cambridge International Assessment Examinations (CAIE), United Kingdom and the International Baccalaureate (IB), Geneva, it offers education from Kindergarten through class X.

Campus

SGIS is sited amidst verdant surroundings away from the din and bustle of the city. The school offers an environment conducive to learning. Academics

SGIS is affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi, CAIE, UK and IB, Geneva. Being affiliated with CBSE, the school follows the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system to track students’ progress. English is offered as first language, Hindi as second language and Marathi as third language for classes I to III. For classes IV to VIII, English is the first language, Hindi the second language and Marathi or Sanskrit is the third language.

Maths, Science and Social Science form part of the middle school curriculum. Classes IX and X have English as the first language and Hindi or Marathi as the second language; Mathematics, Science and Social Science are the compulsory subjects offered.

Cambridge IGCSE curriculum is renowned for developing vital educational skills, including recall of knowledge, oral skills, problem solving, initiative, team work and investigative skills.

The IB offers three rigorous programmes, those are Primary Years Programme (PYP from KG to Grade 5), Middle Years Programme (MYP from Grade 6 to 10) and Diploma Programme (DP from Grade 11 to 12).

Co-Curricular: Students engage in various sports and co-curricular activities. The school promotes activity clubs such as an Art Club, Music Club, Dance Club, Debating Club, and a Gardening Club. Facilities are offered for indoor games, tablet, chess, basketball, football, volleyball and swimming. Saturdays are devoted to co-curricular activities.

Admission

Application forms can be collected from the school office. Registration process commences in October. For admission in Kindergarten class, a personal interaction of the child with the class teacher and parents is required.

For admission to grade I and above, an assessment test is conducted to test the candidates in English, Science and Math. Admission test is followed by a personal interaction of the child and the parents with the principal. The results of the assessment and personal interaction are declared within 48 hours.

Age eligibility for admissions:

1. Pre K.G : 2 years 6 months as on 1st June.

2. Prep I: 3 years 6 months as on 1st June.

3. Prep II: 4 years 6 months as on 1st June.

4. Grade I: 5 years 6 months as on 1st June.

SGIS conducts competitive exams on regular basis in order to enhance the competency level of the students. Accommodation

SGIS provides boarding facilities for the students hailing from different parts of the country. Students from class I through class X can avail the boarding facility. Each child is under the supervision and care of dorm parents and housemasters. The boarding house provides modern amenities with attractive bedrooms and attached bathrooms.
