Overview

Delhi Public School (DPS), Gandhidham is a co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Established under the aegis of the DPS Society, the school aims to offer excellence in academics, co-curricular activities and character building. It also encourages diverse talents and endeavours to stretch the intellectual and creative capacity of the young minds. The DPS (Delhi Public School) Society came into being as a non-profit making body and established its first school in 1949 at Mathura Road, New Delhi. In pursuance of its motto ‘Service Before Self’, and its commitment to an integrated educational system, the mission of the society was to enhance learning among the Indian youth.

Campus

DPS, Gandhidham hosts a state-of-the-art infrastructure which includes spacious and smart class rooms, fully equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs and a Math lab to enrich the teaching of Mathematics. The school houses two computer laboratories with 36 computers. The fully air conditioned Audio Visual room is equipped with a 10 meter wide screen and a projector. The air-conditioned conference room has a seating capacity of 30 people.

The school library is equipped with a reference section and a reading room. It is well stocked with more than 10,000 books in various categories and a large number of periodicals.

The school boasts a fleet of 31 buses with a team of around 30 drivers and 30 conductors. It provides a separate bus for outstation staff members.

Academics

DPS, Gandhidham is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and offers education from Nursery to class XII. Students are graded on Work Experience, Art Education, Physical & Health Education & Life Skills on a 5 point scale – A+, A, B+, B & C. Grades for Attitude and Co-Scholastic activities are awarded on a 3 point scale – A+, A & B. Students who receive a qualifying certificate shall be eligible for promotion/admission to the next higher class.

Co-Curricular:

Students are encouraged to participate in a host of co-curricular activities conducted by the school and they also participate in inter house competitions.

Admission

Procedure for admission:

Registration forms need to be filled in and submitted before the given due date.

Incomplete or illegible registration forms, without photographs will not be processed or accepted.

Dates for tests/interviews/interaction will be confirmed during the time of registration.

Merely issue of form and registration does not guarantee admission, which is subject to availability of seats and other procedures.

Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation or concerned civic authority must accompany the registration form for Pre-Nursery and higher classes.

Photocopy of report card of the last exam passed must be attached with the registration form for class I and above.

Students seeking admission to class I and above will need to write an admission test. Candidates who clear the written test will be called for an interview.

Results will be displayed on the notice board on the dates specified at the time of interview.

Achievement

DPS Gandhidham secured first position at the state level Inter School Science Quiz held in Ahmedabad on December 22, 2013.

DPS Gandhidham bagged the top spot in the Kutch District (Rural) Under 19 SRK Crickect Tournament. The tournament was conducted on league cum knock out basis; 28 teams across the district participated in the tournament.
