Overview

Ryan International School, Beta I, Greater Noida is a coeducational day cum residential school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and the Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE), UK. Founded in 2003, the school is a part of the Ryan International Group of Institutions founded by Dr. Augustine F. Pinto which started its first school in 1976 in Mumbai.

The school is a minority institution and enjoys constitutional rights under Article 30 of the communities of India. The school is open to children of all communities along with a special responsibility for the Christian students to understand, appreciate and live their faith.

Campus

Spread over 12.5 acres, Ryan International School, Greater Noida has only 50 percent of the campus space allocated for classrooms and academic infrastructure. The classrooms are designed (based on the norm of 1sq. m. per child) for 24-30 students and offer adequate light and ventilation. Each cluster of 3-4 classrooms shares a lobby and corridor.

The school library hosts a spacious reference and reading area; the departments of physics, chemistry, biology, computer science/informatics and mathematics have fully-equipped laboratories. The Ryan IT Centre serves as a nodal point for a functional intranet setup in the school premises. The campus also hosts an art and craft center, a music and dance room, play room and a medical infirmary equipped with medical facilities and a qualified nurse.

The school hosts a huge sporting arena with football and hand ball grounds, a basketball court, a skating rink, a cricket net practice area, and a swimming pool, tennis courts and horse riding facility.

Academics

Ryan International School (RIS), Greater Noida, is a CBSE Montessori-XII co-ed school established in the year 2003. The school is also affiliated to CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Examinations) at the primary level to offer a truly global experience. The school’s teaching methodology focuses on modern pedagogy to reduce dependency on the examination system and discourage rote learning. The curriculum follows activity based learning and has a program called R.E.A.C.H. – Reading & Enrichment Activities for Children at Home, where home assignments are not a carry-over of class work but oriented towards honing individual talents and includes suggested books for reading, physical and sports development, general knowledge, civic responsibilities, talent cultivation etc.

The school offers various non scholastic programs such as the Indian Model United Nations (IMUN), ICFPA – International Children’s Festival of Performing Arts, ICEPLEX a Ryan Media Initiative, BBN Beyond Breaking News, NASA Trips, Social Service Teen Camp and Competitive Exams: ISO, IMO, among others.

Besides, performing arts is given a special emphasis and music education is compulsory for all students. The school trains students in musical instruments such as guitar, casio, congo and tabla. Students are also taught folk dance and western dance. Other extracurricular activities include drawing and painting, clay modeling or pottery, puppetry, collage making, Origami, block-printing, rangoli designs, handicraft and making soft toys.

Admission

Notification for registration for the next academic session is released in the previous academic year. Admissions will be granted purely on availability of vacancy in the class applied and also on the basis of performance in the entrance test.

Parents can also fill and submit the registration form online and await the school’s response.

Achievement

The Ryan International Group of Schools was amongst the first to introduce comprehensive education on environmental conservation, personality development and computer education, which have now been widely accepted by various state and private boards. Concepts ideated by the Ryan Schools of “No examination & usage of assessment”, “No Home Work” and the “Grading Assessment Pattern” have gained broad acceptance in India.

Accommodation

The school offers separate accommodation facilities for girls and boys, with well trained kitchen staff and maids.

The hostels are fully air-conditioned and can accommodate two students in each room. Boarders are provided after school special guidance by able tutors and trained in public speaking, horse riding, Tae-kwon-do, swimming, football, cricket, cooking and sewing classes. The hostel offers laundry facility too.
