Birthday_celebrationsI am Bindu Gaddipatti, a graduate in electronics engineering and a certified preschool professional in Early Childhood Education from the Asian International College (Singapore).

I have actively participated in a workshop held at the Indian School of Business (ISB) on The Theory of Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner and have also been a part of several leadership camps and events that focus on better understanding the idea of inclusive education. I worked at Microsoft (USA) as a product/project manager for over six years, where I successfully led projects, and learned and demonstrated effective product management and leadership skills. I was looking to start my own preschool where I could leverage my professional skill sets and passion for early childhood education with the objective of nurturing the next generation of global leaders.

My vision as a preschool educator is to build a happy, safe and stimulating learning environment where children’s talents are appreciated and developed; our school’s guiding philosophy is to help all children realise their potential. Our motto is to create a non-competitive and enjoyable learning environment – we believe children are the carriers of our dreams for a happier future and our hopes for a better tomorrow. My core team, comprising of Ms. Damayanthi Thakur and Ms.Jaya Varughese, has played a pivotal role in my success story at Podar Jumbo Kids Plus, Nallagandla, Hyderabad, for which I express my heartfelt gratitude.

On a personal note, one of my goals is to accompany Dr. Swati Popat Vats on a pilgrimage tour to visit early childhood centres around the world.

While we as educators do our best to nurture children, there are parenting strategies that can go long way in this journey. Firstly, I believe parents should try and avoid handholding children too much; it’s okay to let your children make mistakes — in fact, that’s how they learn. Secondly, parents should allow their child to be mentored by trusted individuals other than themselves — this way, the child’s growth can be viewed from different perspectives, so that development is continuously encouraged. However, parents are of course their children’s key mentors, so they should be mindful of how they act around their children. Actions speak louder than words! And finally, remember that gifts cannot compensate for spending quality time with your little ones — this is where fond memories are created!
