Established in 2009, Aditya Birla World Academy (ABWA), sited at N.S. Patkar Marg in Mumbai, is a co-educational international day school affiliated with the Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE), UK, and the International Baccalaureate (IB), Geneva.
The school is managed by the Aditya Birla Education Trust and aims “To make education a fun-filled, enjoyable, learning and growing experience on the solid foundation of values. “ Towards this end, the school provides an integrated curriculum with fun-filled activity and a ‘hands on’ approach to learning, classrooms equipped with the latest teaching aids and excellent infrastructure for extracurricular activities.
ABWA campus houses spacious, well-lit and wi-fi enabled classrooms, equipped with LCD projectors, screens and speakers of international standards. Medical facilities include a visiting pediatrician and an in-house nurse to look into the daily health-care and routine injuries.
Other facilities include a cafeteria offering healthy, hygienically prepared vegetarian lunch to the students, an in house transport facility boasting a fleet of luxury buses, a conference hall, state-of-the-art science and mathematics labs, and a multi-purpose room.
The curriculum at ABWA follows a four-fold path, offering the Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) from lower KG through grade V, Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme from grade VI through grade VIII, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum for grades IX and X and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) for grades XI and XII.
Extracurricular: Believing that “True education is training the body, the mind and the soul”, ABWA actively encourages co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Professional coaches train the children in a range of sporting activities such as football, basketball, cricket, table tennis, judo and athletics. The school also provides facilities for learning musical instruments such as guitar, drums, keyboard, etc., besides pottery, carpentry, speech and drama, dance, graphic art and public speaking.

A duly filled in application form obtained either from the school admissions office or downloaded from the school’s website, needs to be submitted along with other documents and a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 5,000. Students seeking admission into pre-primary and grade I will have an ‘Observation Session’ to assess their readiness for the particular grade. For admissions into other classes students are required to write an assessment test in English and mathematics. Selected candidates are invited for an interview along with parents.
