January 12, 2024

The Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh Police has apprehended four individuals belonging to an inter-state gang engaged in fabricating counterfeit mark sheets and certificates from various universities and education councils in Agra. The arrests were made following a tip-off, leading the STF team to detain the suspects in different locations within Agra on Wednesday.

The official statement released by authorities revealed that a significant quantity of blank mark sheets, along with 349 holograms from the UP Secondary Education Council and several universities, were seized from the possession of the arrested individuals. The detainees have been identified as Arjun, Nekram Kushwaha, and Pankaj Sharma, residents of Agra, and Mohit Gupta from Firozabad.

The STF’s swift action stemmed from information about the gang’s illegal activities, highlighting the ongoing efforts to curb such fraudulent practices in the education sector. A case related to the incident has been registered in the Tajganj area of Agra, and a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the operation.

This operation serves as a testament to law enforcement’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of educational institutions and preventing the proliferation of fake academic credentials. The authorities are likely to delve deeper into the network’s operations to ensure that all accomplices are identified and appropriate legal action is taken against them.
