Overview

Founded in 2001, Amar Jyoti Saraswati International School (ASIS), Bhavnagar is a co-educational English medium day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi and the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). Founded by Captain Kirit Sinh Gohil and wife Amar Jyotiba Gohil, the school is managed by the Amar Jyoti Trust. The school offers classes from nursery through class XII.

ASIS offers advanced teaching approaches which ensure that each student receives all holistic education.

Campus

The school campus hosts 30 classrooms equipped with smart boards, well-equipped labs for physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and language, and a well stocked library featuring 10, 000 publications.

Other facilities within the school campus are sports, internet/wifi, canteen and medical facilities.

Academics

Affiliated with CISCE and GSEB, the school offers classes from nursery through class XII. The school follows CBSE’s formative and summative assessments pattern and focuses on a wide range of teaching methods such as activity based learning (Montessori), engaged pedagogy, learner centered, technology orientated, cooperative and practical based learning.

The school conducts weekly training for all teachers; 10-15 days external training is provided for the teaching faculty as per the board requirements.

Extra-curricular activities:

Besides academics, the school encourages students to engage themselves in extra-curricular activities such as horse riding, football, hockey, basketball, cricket, athletics, dance, music, drama, art, skit and debate, student exchange programmes, local, national and international excursions, and social work.

Admission

Admission criteria are as follows:

1. He/She should pass the evaluation conducted by the school with merit

2. Be physically fit as per the school’s standards

3. Should have completed 6 years for admission to class I as on August 31 of the year of admission.

Admission Procedure-

Schedule for admissions is placed on the school notice board every year. The completed application forms should be submitted to the school office with:

1. Photostat copy of the result of the last examinations

2. Leaving certificate

3. Birth certificate for admission to classes nursery to class II

4. Enrollment fee and entrance evaluation fee.

Name of the students selected for appearing in the evaluation program will be put up on the school notice board on an announced date every year. The subjects for written entrance evaluation are English and Mathematics as per the given syllabus. Students who pass with merit in the written entrance evaluation will be called for interaction with the school authorities along with the parents.

Admission is granted on the basis of performance in the written evaluation and interaction assessment.

ASIS, Bhavnagar was honored with the International School Award from the British Council and is the only recognised CISCE affiliated school within the Bhavnagar region of Gujarat.
