Anant National University, India’s premier design institution, is set to conduct the Anant Design Entrance and Proficiency Test (ADEPT) in 10 languages on January 26, 2025. ADEPT, India’s first multilingual design entrance exam, aims to provide an inclusive platform for aspiring designers from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
The test will be available in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Punjabi, reinforcing Anant’s commitment to democratizing access to design education. This landmark initiative ensures equal opportunities for students, regardless of their preferred language, enabling them to showcase their potential in the field of design.
Breaking New Ground in Design Education:
Anant National University introduced ADEPT in five languages last year, inspired by the philosophy of its President, Mr. Ajay Piramal, who believes that “design transcends language.” This innovation saw unprecedented success, with the largest-ever BDes Class of 2028 enrolling 478 students from four nationalities, 30 Indian states, and 283 cities.
Building on this momentum, ADEPT’s expansion to 10 languages marks another milestone. Dr. Anunaya Chaubey, Provost of Anant National University, stated, “By offering ADEPT in multiple languages, we are empowering aspiring designers to overcome linguistic barriers and contribute to global design innovation.”
